It’s fun to sit around a table and play Ring of Fire or Drunk Jenga, but nothing beats a fun, active drinking game. They’re a great way to use up all that beer energy (and burn off those beer calories!). We’ve put together a list of some great active drinking games you can use at any party.

Fun Active Drinking Games

1. Bottle BAsh (A.K.A. Beer Disk, Beersbee, or Polish Horseshoes)

This is one of our favorite active outdoor drinking games. You can purchase a set that includes a frisbee, 2 rubber bottles, and 2 beer poles. Each team takes turns throwing the frisbee to try and knock their opponents bottle off the pole. You earn points two ways – if the other team’s bottle hits the ground, or if they don’t catch the frisbee.

The twist is that you must have a drink in one hand at all times (so you can drink when you lose points!). This makes catching the frisbee and catching the falling bottle a bit more difficult, since you have to do it with one hand. You’ll need quick reflexes to win Bottle Bash!

2. Four Corners (Beer Ball)

Beer can on table for Four Corners drinking game.

Four Corners (sometimes called Beer Ball) will have everyone running all over the room. The object of the game is to hit your opponent’s beer can with a ping pong ball, and then chug your beer as fast as you can while they try to retrieve the ball as fast as they can.

You can play this outdoors if you’d like, but it’s actually a little more fun when played indoors with obstacles (as long as nothing is breakable). Prepare to be crawling on the ground and hastily moving furniture!

See the detailed rules and instructions here.

3. Baseball

Baseball the drinking game rules.

Baseball is a fun variation of beer pong. You need a table, cups, and a ping pong ball. You can read all about the drinking game rules here, but basically it involves throwing, catching, moving around the table, and rapid flip cup sessions! This game can easily be played either indoors or outdoors.

4. Cornhole

Two people playing cornhole outside on a red board.

Cornhole is a classic outdoor lawn game that involves throwing bean bags into the hole of a board 20 feet away. It can be played casually or with a drink in hand! See here for more info on Cornhole drinking rules.

5. Throw Throw Burrito

Throw Throw Burrito card game pieces.

Throw Throw Burrito is a “dodgeball card game” created by the same people who made Exploding Kittens. It’s not technically a drinking game, but hear us out. It’s super active (there’s lots of grabbing, throwing, and dodging foam burritos!) and is really fun to play with a large group.

You can check out the game here on Amazon, and here are the rules for turning it into a drinking game.

6. Beer Pong + Free Pong

Free Pong board mounted to wall with red solo cups attached.

You’re probably familiar with beer pong, so you know it’s a fairly active game. But there’s a new game out there called Free Pong that basically makes beer pong vertical. If you play with the balls back rule, you’ll turn it into a pretty active game similar to wall ball!

Any time you’re drinking, you should make sure to have lots of water, but this is even more important with active drinking games. Don’t let yourself get dehydrated!

Be sure to check out these other great party games if you need a break from all the action!
